  7. Hey Aaron,
David showed me your OI and I was looking over it but I had a question for you... How long is it right now????? I thought I'd ask you because I didn't want to cut to much out... or to less:0) Okay, thanks!

  8. It's too long....like almost 11 minutes I think. That was just when I was reading it out loud for the first time. I actually revised it today....but I'm not really sure which parts are good or not. It just seems like a lot of narrative. Not much dialogue.
Anyhow, I'm trying to show the scenes about his Father so that the ending will have more impact; so I've cut out a few of the scenes that don't include him.

I keep thinking as I'm reading the book and stuff that it needs to be made into a full-length movie. It's such a great book that it's hard to fit into only 10 minutes.

  9. Oh... okay... I noticed that you did have a lot of narration in it too. Which scenes did you cut? When I was looking over it I saw a lot of narration that you could cut... did you cut much narration out?
The script you gave David says that you will have a part when the "father has his accident"... but you don't have it in right now... have you added that part? If you have, is it narration or more just you having to act it out?

Anyway, it is going to be an awesome OI! I will have a hard time competing against you... I just decided today that I'm going to do a OI too... but I'm not sure what I will do it on... have any idea's??? :0)

  10. I cut out the part about his mother getting sick...and narrowed the other scenes a little so there's more dialogue. And the part where his father is in an accident is mostly narrative. If you want to see the revised version I can just email it to you.

  11. What! You cut out when his mother got sick! That was the best part... well.... maybe not:0) I just like the part when they are at the dinner table and she asks him to pray... "He became a man." Ha...
I'm not really using my email anymore... so... you don't have to sent it to me:D You didn't cut out the part when he gets in the fight at school did you? The next time I see you I'll give you back the script that you gave David and you can see what I thought of it... it's all marked up now... anyway... you'll be good at it!
Hey, do you think I should do Ann of Green Gables for an OI???

  12. Yeah, I left the school fight in there. Have you read the book, Little Britches? It's really good! It's just too bad the OI has to be under 10 minutes because there is soo much good character development about his father that I had to cut out.
The whole book kind of builds up to him becoming a man....and then, at the very end, he becomes a man when his father dies.

Oh, and yes, do what Sledvinsky says. ;D

  13. Oh.... now I know who Sledvinsky was... at first I thought it was one of you but I wasn't sure because you spelled it "Sled, not Sleadd". :P I thought it was you...
Oh, and, I haven't read the book. But, it sounds pretty neat! Maybe I could borrow it om you one of these days... if I have any time to read it once we start Omnibus up again... Okay, talk to ya laterz...

  14. Hey Aaron, how long does the Abortion speech have to be??? And do you have to have it memorized???

    ReplyDelete
  15. It has to be under 7 minutes... and I don't think it has to be memorized. I think you can read it from paper.

Are you thinking of entering in the Right-to-life Oratory Contest? That'd be cool. Then I wouldn't be the only one competing... :D

    ReplyDelete
  16. Yea... I was thinking about it... are you really going to be the only one competing? I'm going to enter the drawing thing.... oh, did you know that tomorrow all of us Omnibus kids and (Uncle) Kenny are going to a worldveiw thing in Portland for the weekend? I just found out like an hour ago... so, hopefully I'll be able to get the drawing done and if I do write a speech get that done.

David probably will do a speech, I'm just thinking about it:D Kaila is going to do an essay and Karissa is also going to do a drawing. Is Alexa doing anything???
